In Grades 7 and 8 we focus on learning about who Jesus is; His life, ministry and the Church He set up to continue His mission in the world. We learn how to read our bibles so that they can be a source of life and excitement!
In Grades 9-11 we begin helping students prepare for their confirmation. Students learn more about the Sacraments and how they are a way for us to know Christ in a deep and intimate way. They also learn about the "WHY?" behind many of the teachings of the Catholic Church so that they are ready to make a life long covenant with God at their Confirmation. When a Student feels that they are ready to make the next step toward receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation, they are invited to participate in our Inquiry process as a part of their formation.
Inquiry is a process that brings a student who shows a real desire to learn more about their faith, are actively participating in their faith, and are willing to commit to growing in their faith, on a path to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. These students still attend regular Creed Night classes, with the addition of personalized help and mentorship from the Pastor, Youth Minister and their Sponsor.
As students enter into their adult life in the Church, we want to encourage them to continue learning about their faith, and growing closer to God. Confirmation students will meet for a few weeks at the beginning of the year to get organized and make final preparations. After their confirmation they will be a part of "Chasm" a group geared toward adults and students who are ready to go deeper into their faith, and relationship with God. They can also have the opportunity to help disciple younger students as a part of our Family Faith Formation program.
