Family Formation is a truly innovative K-6th grade Catholic religious education program used by parishes and families across the US and Canada.
Based on the principle that "Parents are the primary educators in the Faith" [General Directory for Catechesis (GDC) 255], Family Formation revolves around weekly family gatherings and home lessons. This shared learning experience spills over into the family's everyday life. More information can be found here: www.familyformation.net
Each month during the school year, we meet after Church one Sunday. Students meet in classrooms with other children in their grade to go over a lesson together. Parents spend time learning more about their faith and discussing it with other parents from the parish. They also receive a packet filled with lessons, resources and projects that they can use to teach their children about the Catholic Faith through the remaining weeks of that month. Family Faith Formation is offered for students with their parents in grades K-6.
This year for our parent sessions on Sunday we will be using curriculum from the Symbolon DVD series.
