Confraternity of Christian Mothers
The Confraternity is a prayer apostolate for Catholic women who wish to educate and inspire mothers in performing the duties of raising their children. We face many challenges today. God is relying on mothers to keep Christ alive in the world by keeping Him alive in our hearts and homes.
The origins of the confraternity began in Lille, France in 1850 as a way of strengthening families and the church. Recognizing the need of Catholic teaching in raising their children, mothers began to gather and pray. Soon, the movement was all over France and eventually spread to the United States. There are currently 3400 groups in the U.S.
We were installed by the National Director, Fr. Bertin Roll O.F.M., here at Queen of Peace church in 1998. We continue to meet weekly at noon and would love for you to join us whenever you can. For more information, call Jill Beyer, 879-0082.
