Social Concerns Committee

The primary activities of this committee are:

• Sending cards from Father and the Queen of Peace family to parishioners who are hospitalized and asking permission to include their name in the bulletin asking for prayers.
• Collecting food at the church for the Food Shelf in Cloquet throughout the year.  We also have one major food drive and second collection in the month of November for Thanksgiving.  We deliver all food donated to the Salvation Army.
• Work with the Memorial Blood Center to hold one blood drive every year at Queen of Peace Parish.  This includes making calls to fill all 30-plus time slots available for blood donors.
• Attend FEMA meetings semi-annually to help determine the distribution of federal food shelf aid throughout Carlton County.
