Becoming Catholic

Welcome! The Path that leads someone to look at becoming Catholic is unique to each individual. At Queen of Peace we will follow a process called RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults). This RCIA process is for adults as well as children older than 9 years.
+ Are you not baptized and interested in learning about the Catholic faith?
+ Were you baptized in another Christian church but now find yourself seeking a better understanding of Catholicism, perhaps because your spouse is Catholic and you are seeking a greater family unity through shared faith or because you desire a community with whom you can share your life questions and beliefs?
+ Were you baptized Catholic but never celebrated your First Communion and Confirmation?
RCIA is the process by which men and women become full members of the Catholic Church.
RCIA begins in September and culminates at Easter. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Irene McKay at 879-6793, ext. 17.
Natural Family Planning
Queen of Peace Church works through the Natural Family Planning Center at St. Mary’s Medical Center. This center offers a couple a shared method of family planning which is scientifically proven to be both safe and effective for attaining the couple’s goal of either achieving or avoiding a pregnancy. Along with this, it is a real tool to strengthen and help the couple grow in their relationship. Free introductory sessions are held once a month at the Cloquet Memorial Hospital. For the couples who continue to use the method, we offer individual sessions with a certified practitioner. This center also offers a mother-daughter class for mothers and their daughters between the ages of 11 and 14.
